Why should I submit to Barnstorm?
Barnstorm is one of a small handful of competitions that provides coverage analysis to every submitted screenplay. Barnstorm's coverage is provided solely by industry professionals. Barnstorm's ultimate goal is to get your screenplay produced. The producers at Barnstorm Media are here to provide guidance for all of our finalists for as long as it takes. What kind of scripts do you look for?
All genres are accepted. In particular, we are looking for a unique work that is production-ready. Experimental work is also highly encouraged.
Is there a page limit?
No. But scripts over 120 pages may incur an additional charge.
Can I also enter other competitions?
Yes.
Do you accept spec scripts based on current or past television series?
Yes.
Do you accept international scripts?
Yes.
Do you accept treatments and pitches?
Yes. You may submit your feature, television or short film treatment under the Feature, Television or Short category.
Do you accept series bibles?
Yes. You may submit your series bible under the Television category.
Can I submit the same script as last year?
Yes, especially if you apply the notes from our feedback!
Do you accept updated drafts?
Yes. If you have already received our feedback, you may submit an updated draft here. A small administrative fee applies.
When is the feedback returned?
We strive to return feedback as soon as possible. If you need a quick turnaround, we offer expedited feedback for an additional fee.
In addition, if you submit prior to the Earlybird Deadline, you are guaranteed to receive your feedback prior to the Official Deadline. If you submit prior to the Official Deadline, you are guaranteed to receive your feedback prior to the Last Minute Deadline.
When is the last day I can submit an updated draft?
Dec. 20th, 2024
How does the screenplay option work?
The Grand Jury Prize winner will have the choice to receive either $5,000 USD or they may opt for a screenplay option from Barnstorm Media. The option offer would be for $5,000. During the option period, Barnstorm would strive to package your script for production. Many of the terms of the screenplay option are negotiable.
When are the notification dates?
The Short List will be published on Dec. 31st. The Finalists and Grand Jury Prize winner will be announced on Jan. 10th.
Privacy Policy
We receive, collect and store any information you enter on our website or provide us in any other way. We may use software tools to measure and collect session information, including page response times, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information, and methods used to browse away from the page.
When you conduct a transaction on our website, as part of the process, we collect the personal information you give us such as your email address. Your personal information will be used for the specific reasons stated above only.
We collect such Non-personal and Personal Information for the following purposes:
To provide and operate the Services;
To provide our Users with ongoing customer assistance and technical support;

Our company is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides us with an online platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases, and general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall.
